(CHICAGO) ) – Joyce Brewer, a television veteran in the area of financial planning, has been named the new Director of Planning & Administration for Fox Sports Net Chicago. James J. Corno, Fox Sports Net Chicago’s Senior Vice President/General Manager, made the announcement.
Brewer will oversee the network’s business and human resources activities, including budgeting, forecasting and working with senior staff members to prepare long-range business plans.
“We are very fortunate to have an individual as qualified and talented as Joyce join our team,” said Corno. “Her knowledge of the television business and prior experience in the industry will be invaluable in helping us achieve the goals we’ve established for our network.”
Brewer spent the past three and a half years in Louisville, KY, as Director of Finance & Administration for both WDRB-TV, a Fox broadcast affiliate and UPN broadcast affiliate, WFTE-TV. For the two stations, Brewer directed the implementation of all financial and administrative policies, along with upgrading the stations’ finance and accounting departments and all areas concerning human resources, information technology, credit and collections and financial controls.
Prior to her work in Louisville, Brewer worked for the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority as budget analyst in Washington, DC and as a financial consultant at WJLA-TV and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB). During the 1980’s, she spent nine years with WMAQ-TV in Chicago working her way up to Manager of Financial Planning.
A native of Indianapolis, IN, Brewer earned a graduate degree in finance from Loyola University Chicago and her undergraduate degree in accounting from Indiana University.
