NonStop Television AB Adds Carriage Deals for 24/7 HD Channel with Second Leading Norwegian Operator and Several Baltic MSOs
New York, NY / Stockholm, Sweden – March 11, 2008 – VOOM HD Networks has announced the launch of the VOOM HD channel by Get, Norway's second leading cable television provider. Get, which has aggressively incorporated high-definition television (HDTV) into its evolving digital platform, will feature VOOM HD in its new HD channel line-up this month. Building on VOOM HD's growing reach throughout Scandinavia, this latest carriage deal was made possible through the efforts of NonStop Television AB, which distributes the VOOM HD channel throughout both the Nordic and Baltic regions.
Recently added VOOM HD distribution in Baltic regions includes carriage deals with Lithuania's Alpha Komunikacijos, Penki Kontinentai and Splius, as well as Estonia's EST.
"While we certainly had an idea of which regions would respond to and embrace high-definition television most vigorously, it is truly fulfilling to both witness and be a part of such growth," said Glenn Oakley, Senior Vice President, Global Operations and Business Development for VOOM HD Networks. "Norway is among the leaders of this charge, and we're pleased that VOOM HD and NonStop Television will help Get launch its new HD package."
Added Ignas Scheynius, CEO NonStop Television AB: "We strongly believe that HD is the future format of today's television, so we have specialized in finding high-quality HD channels like VOOM HD and others."
VOOM HD redefines television with the largest and most diverse collection of high-definition programming anywhere in the world. The channel's exclusive lifestyle content offers the international marketplace a passionate perspective on adventure travel, fashion, luxury living, art, live concerts, action sports and video gaming.
Since initiating their distribution agreement in October 2006, VOOM HD Networks and NonStop Television AB have enjoyed great success in establishing the VOOM HD channel in the Scandinavian and Baltic regions. The HD channel is currently available in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Estonia and Latvia through leading operators.
Get is Norway's leading digital television and broadband provider, with Norway's largest network to private customers after Telenor. Get offers Norway's broadest selection of digital television channels (over 90), in addition to 20 analogue TV channels and about 40 digital and analogue radio channels. Get also delivers one of the country's fastest broadband connections (26 Mbps) and delivers broadband telephony with quality of service. Get is owned by the European investment company Candover.
