Lisa Ling to Host Music Series

Anaheim, CA, December 2, 2002 – WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT presents the second annual WE GOT THE BEAT music series every Sunday night in January, it was announced today by Martin von Ruden, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the network. Throughout the month, WE GOT THE BEAT will feature original series, specials, concerts and exclusive interviews with some of today's hottest female artists including Pink, Macy Gray, Ashanti, Nelly Furtado, Alanis Morissette and Kylie Minogue. Lisa Ling ("The View") will host the documentary series, "rocktalk."

As host of "rocktalk," Ling gives viewers a backstage pass and intimate look at the lives of some of rock's leading ladies. Fans are invited to reminisce with singing sensations Donna Summer and The Go-Go's with two concerts featuring popular hits from the seventies and eighties. And, in the original special "Rock 'n' Moms," Pat Benatar, Nancy and Ann Wilson of Heart and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas reveal the journey from rock stars to rock moms and how they maintained a balance between both roles.

"rocktalk" – January 5 at 10:00 and 10:30 PM ET
Hosted by Lisa Ling, "rocktalk" consists of two half-hour original specials profiling today's hottest contemporary female musicians; Pink, Alanis Morissette, Kylie Minogue, Ashanti, Macy Gray, and Nelly Furtado. With clips from their chart-topping videos, and intimate one-on-one interviews, viewers will learn what inspired these artists and how they overcame obstacles on the path to superstardom.

Rock 'n' Moms – January 12 at 10:00 PM ET
This original special reveals the journey of women musicians as they progress from rock stars to rock moms and must find, and maintain, a balance between both roles. The one-hour documentary features rock & roll icon, Pat Benatar and her daughter Haley, Michelle Phillips, of THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS and daughter Chynna Phillips, the duo Nancy and Ann Wilson of HEART, GO-GO'S guitarist Charlotte Caffey and singer/songwriter Louise Goffin, daughter of legendary singer/songwriter Carole King.

Donna Summer: Live and More Encore – January 19 at 10:00 PM ET
The Queen of Disco showcases her greatest achievements and legendary voice in this spectacular performance. The concert features popular chart-toppers including "Last Dance," "On the Radio," "She Works Hard for the Money," "Hot Stuff" and "No More Tears."

The Go-Go's from Central Park – January 26 at 10:00 PM ET
The 80's pop divas are back with the beats that create an instant girl-bonding experience in this concert from New York City's Central Park. Tune in for a little nostalgia when these four hip chicks perform singles from their latest album God Bless the Go-Go's, as well as sing-along favorites "Vacation," "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed."
