Rainbow Media’s Evan Shapiro and Dan Ronayne to Discuss ‘Marketing in a Post-Tivo World’ at Promax & BDA Conference 2005, June 22

New York, NY, June 21, 2005 – Rainbow Media's Evan Shapiro, General Manager and Executive Vice President of IFC, and Dan Ronayne, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Mag Rack and sportskool, will be featured panelists at this year's Promax & BDA Conference. The panel, "Is The World Moving Beneath Your Feet? Marketing in a post-TIVO World", addresses the future of marketing in a world beyond 30-second commercials and promos. The panel is at 4:30 pm on Wednesday, June 22 in the Empire Suite (7th Floor) of the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York City.

"IFC is TV, uncut – a non-commercial entertainment environment designed for and by the PVR generation who use time shifting and media-on-demand as part of their everyday lives," said Shapiro. "For our brand and our partners, we've developed IFC as Tivo-proof and Tivo-worthy television, integrating marketing and content without compromising either."

"It's the beginning of a new era in TV advertising where the consumer is increasingly in control of how they view their entertainment," said Ronayne. "The on-demand platform is ideal for advertisers wanting to cut through the clutter to reach a targeted audience. The Mag Rack and sportskool audiences are particularly attractive to advertisers because they have already adopted an a la carte approach to content selection based on topics that are personally relevant to them – a natural fit for brands seeking to identify one-to-one with specific audiences."

Shapiro will provide a unique perspective on the latest in product placement, customized partnerships, and sponsored program blocks. Ronayne will discuss the challenge of selling advertising on VOD, branded entertainment and on-demand promotional opportunities, and Mag Rack's recent launch of VOD's first ever branded entertainment initiative. Joining Shapiro and Ronayne on the panel are Mike Benson, ABC Television Network, and Lesli Rotenberg, PBS. Television Week journalist, Alex Ben Block, will moderate.
