Rainbow’s Regional News Rep Service Expands Nationwide Reach

(New York, NY) Regional News Rep (RNR) announced today that it has signed affiliation agreements with three regional news networks in major media markets: Bay TV, San Francisco, CA; Orange County News, Orange County/Los Angeles, CA; and 10 News 2, Knoxville, TN, continuing the rapid growth of its business nationwide. As a result of this increase, RNR now represents 25 regional news networks across the country, representing 83% of the market and reaching a total of more than 22.7 million households. RNR is a division of Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation.

“Regional news channels are clearly the best way to target highly-desired audiences by geography, and they also give advertisers the unique ability to bond with local communities, on the issues those audiences care about most,” says Deborah Cuffaro, Senior Vice President of RNR. “Maximizing this local edge, RNR offers advertisers the potential to build strong relationships with consumers, customizing their messages to make an impact beyond just the spot,” Cuffaro continues. “These opportunities continue to broaden and deepen as RNR extends its news channel representation nationally, all the while seizing a greater percentage of advertising dollars.”

RNR is the nation’s first advertising sales representation organization dedicated to the sale of spot advertising on regional cable news networks. Launched in early 1999, RNR includes a staff of dedicated sales experts trained to take advantage of the rapid, nationwide proliferation of localized cable television news services. With offices based in major cities around the country, RNR provides its clients with maximum value by offering representation and strategic insight through its understanding of viewer habits, regional markets and consumer demands.

Bay TV reaches more than 1.4 million households. It is carried on AT&T Media Services, Cable One, Century Cable, Chambers Cable and Horizon Cable systems covering Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara Solano and Sonoma California.
