“Return To Glory: The 2001-02 Boston Celtics” Premieres Wednesday on FSN

Fox Sports Net special presentation documents Celtics successful season

BOSTON – With their first playoff game since 1995 and their first conference finals appearance since 1988, the Boston Celtics "returned to glory" in 2002. Fox Sports Net New England relives the storied season in a thirty-minute special presentation called, "RETURN TO GLORY: THE 2001-02 BOSTON CELTICS." The special airs, Wednesday, June 26th at 7PM.

"This season was exciting from wire to wire," said David Woodman, Senior Vice President/General Manager, Fox Sports Net New England. "We want to give fans the opportunity to remember just how much fun it was."

RETURN TO GLORY highlights the Celtics brilliant run and includes interviews with Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce, Coaches Jim O'Brien and Dick Harter as well as coaches from around the league. The longest running, sports commentary team in television, Fox Sports Net's Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn, will host this special presentation. RETURN TO GLORY begins with Coach O'Brien taking the reins of the most storied franchise in sports and takes you through the 2002 NBA Playoffs in full.

"We'll look at how Jim O'Brien established a 'never-surrender' attitude that served the Celtics well all year and culminated in the greatest comeback in NBA Playoff history."

The 2001-02 Boston Celtics season witnessed a number of notable milestones including the greatest comeback in NBA Playoff history against the Nets in Game #3 (Celtics 94, Nets 90); the dethroning of the defending Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia 76er's; and the elimination of the Central Division Champion Detroit Pistons.
