Romance Classics Presents “Jackie Onassis,” a Documentary Portrait on Sunday, August 13

BETHPAGE, NY, June 28, 2000 — Romance Classics presents ‘Jackie Onassis,’ an in-depth documentary portrait of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, on Sunday, August 13 at 5:00 p.m. (eastern time). Revered worldwide as the consummate pillar of strength and paragon of style, the former first lady will forever remain one of the most beloved icons of the 20th century.

Featuring personal interviews and rare home movie footage from the Bouvier and Kennedy collections, this compelling documentary follows Jackie from her childhood and Vassar College days to her studies at the Sourbonne in Paris, and completion of college at George Washington University in 1950, when she first met her future husband, then a US Congressman. The film traces her story from her job at the Washington Times Herald as the “Inquiring Photographer” to her whirlwind romance with, and marriage to, Senator John F. Kennedy. The rest of her story – her loss, her marriage to Aristotle Onassis, the fate of her family and her very public dramas thereafter – is well known to a worldwide audience. Yet, this unique documentary portrait offers viewers so much more than just headlines, revealing an elegant life full of style, grace and love.
