Royal Wedding Coverage On WE: Women's Entertainment Posts Strong Ratings for Network

NEW YORK, NY, APRIL 12, 2005 – WE: Women's Entertainment today released solid ratings performance for Saturday, April 9, due in part to the network's airing of the royal wedding and one-hour wrap-up special of Prince Charles and Mrs. Camilla Parker Bowles. According to Nielsen data, WE's HH primetime average (8p-11p) for Saturday, April 9th was a 0.44, up 91% over the same time period a year ago (April 04 – 0.23 primetime HH rating). This rating is 57% higher than the April 2005 average primetime HH rating to date (0.28), and 91% higher than the season to date (04 vs 05) average primetime HH rating (0.23).

The highest rated telecast of the day was WE's one-hour wedding wrap-up special at
9 pm with a 0.63 HH rating. In addition, it is the highest rated special EVER to air on WE, and is also the network's highest rated special as compared to season to date (04 vs 05), April to date, and 2005 year to date numbers.

WE's one-hour wedding wrap-up special, hosted by CBS News Correspondent Mika Brzezinski, covered all the fashion, protocol, gossip and history of the day and featured footage of the event along with wedding commentary by royal experts including British royal watcher and editor of Majesty Magazine, Ingrid Seward, and best-selling author and journalist, Diane Clehane.
