Sundance Channel Marketing Promotes Three

Beth Stein Promoted to Vice President, Marketing
JC Cancedda Promoted to Vice President, Brand Strategy & Creative

LOS ANGELES, CA – May 12, 2010 Sundance Channel announced today it has promoted three key members of its marketing team. Beth Stein has been elevated to vice president of marketing from senior director, brand marketing; JC Cancedda has been promoted to vice president of brand strategy and creative from director, brand strategy and design; and Lele Engler has been upped to director, marketing and media from senior manager. The appointments are effective immediately. The announcement was made by Shari Weisenberg, Sundance Channel’s SVP of Marketing. Ms. Stein and Mr. Cancedda will report to Ms. Weisenberg; Ms. Engler will report to Ms. Stein

In her new role, Ms. Stein will spearhead all consumer, affiliate and branded entertainment marketing efforts for the network. As head of creative for the network, Mr. Cancedda will oversee all expressions of the Sundance Channel brand including on air, digital, marketing, original programming, affiliate, international, and outside partnerships. Ms. Engler will oversee media planning, promotional strategy, and affiliate and partnership marketing.

Most recently Ms. Stein served as senior director, brand marketing, where she oversaw consumer and affiliate marketing strategies and branded entertainment initiatives, as well as managed the production and delivery of campaigns. Ms. Stein joined Sundance Channel in 2004 as manager, creative services and was soon upped to senior director, media and creative services. Prior to Sundance Channel, Ms. Stein was an account director at Terry Hines & Associates, and held marketing and creative executive positions at Paramount Pictures, ICM and Miramax Films. Ms. Stein earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Italian from The John Hopkins University.

Mr. Cancedda joined Sundance Channel in 2007 as director, on-air & off-air design. In that role he was responsible for producing and enforcing the visual identity for the Sundance Channel brand. His primary duties included channel branding, branded entertainment on-air, off-air and out-of-home campaigns. Prior to Sundance Channel, Mr. Cancedda was design director at Food Network and held creative executive positions at Walt Disney Internet Group, Newsweek, and Lifetime Television. Mr. Cancedda earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from the School of Visual in New York City. He is a member Promax/bda and AIGA.

Most recently Ms. Engler served as sr. manager, marketing and media, where she executed consumer and trade media plans, oversaw channel merchandising, and managed consumer agency relationships. She joined Sundance Channel in 2005 as sr. manager, media and production services. Prior to Sundance Channel, Ms. Engler was a communications analyst at Mediaedge:cia and was a media planner with McCann Relationship Marketing New York. Ms. Engler earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Denison University.
