Network’s First Scripted Fare Earns Award for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television
Beverly Hills, CA – Sunday, January 16, 2011 -Sundance Channel was recognized with its first-ever Golden Globe Award tonight for CARLOS, the network’s first foray into scripted programming. The project won the Award for Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television. The prestigious honor marks Sundance Channel’s first-ever Golden Globe nomination and win. The mini-series, from award-winning filmmaker Olivier Assayas (Summer Hours), made its U.S. premiere on Sundance Channel on October 11, 2010 and is a definitive portrait of the renowned international terrorist known as Carlos the Jackal, who masterminded a wave of terror attacks in Europe and the Middle East in the ’70s and ’80s.

CARLOS is produced by Daniel Leconte/Film en Stock with the participation of Canal Plus and ARTE in association with Sundance Channel, co-produced by Egoli Tossel. Sundance Channel will re-air CARLOS on Thursday, January 20th at 8pm ET/PT and the mini-series will be available on Sundance Channel on Demand beginning Wednesday, February 2nd.
