Theano Apostolou Promoted Vice President, Publicity, Talent Relations, and Promotional Events for AMC

NEW YORK, NY, November 26, 2007 – Rainbow Media announced today the promotion of Theano Apostolou as the Vice President of publicity, talent relations and promotional events for AMC. In her expanded role at the network, Apostolou will lead AMC's consumer communications for original series, movie franchises, and industry events. Previously Apostolou served as Vice President of public relations for both AMC and WE tv. She will continue to report to Ellen Kroner, the SVP of Communications for Rainbow Media.

"The publicity strategies for AMC and WE tv created by Theano and her teams have demonstrated a great talent for developing break-out campaigns that help drive awareness and define the brands," said Kroner. "She has done an impressive job of creating buzz in a highly competitive marketplace, driving Golden Globe and Emmy campaigns that resulted in wins for AMC and creating high-visibility stunts for WE tv. As AMC continues to ramp up its original programming slate, her direction and expertise in this expanded role will be of great value to the network."

Most recently Apostolou and her team garnered unprecedented press for the critically acclaimed original series "Mad Men," making it one of the most talked about shows of the season. She also launched AMC's first original movie "Broken Trail" to critical acclaim and record-breaking ratings, resulting in four Emmy wins for the network.

Heading into 2008, Apostolou will oversee all press efforts for the upcoming original programming slate including the launch of AMC's new original series "Breaking Bad," which premieres in January. In addition, she will also be the driving force behind the network's star-studded events including American Cinematheque.

Before joining AMC and WE tv Apostolou served as Vice President of Media Relations for Rainbow's music network, fuse. There she developed strategic media and promotional partnerships that generated tremendous visibility for the newly launched music network. In 2004, she helped launch one of the most unexpected music careers by granting "American Idol" hopeful William Hung a recording and music video contract, and helped develop high-profile marketing and programming partnerships for the network with Maxim magazine and "Access Hollywood" among others.

Earlier in her career, Apostolou worked at Dan Klores Communications where she worked with many high-profile clients and campaigns, including: hip-hop impresario and entrepreneur Sean "P. Diddy" Combs; Grammy winning artist Lil' Kim; designer Kate Spade; M.A.C Cosmetics and Ian Schrager's empire of luxury boutique hotels.

Before joining DKC, Apostolou worked in Ketchum's consumer brand division, where she managed Maxwell House's corporate philanthropy initiative to build 100 homes in 100 weeks with Habitat for Humanity. She is a winner of the PR industry's Silver Anvil award for her work on behalf of Maxwell House and a CIPRA for McDonald's.

Apostolou studied Art History at Rutgers College and Business Administration at the American University in Athens, Greece, where she earned a Bachelors degree. She currently resides in New York City.
