Twists, Tensions and Scandalous Secrets as Season Two of Mcleod’s Daughters Premieres March 19 on WE: Women’s Entertainment

JERICHO, NY, FEBRUARY 23, 2005 – McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS, the most successful Australian drama series of the past four years, returns to WE: Women’s Entertainment with season two premiering Saturday, March 19 at 10:00PM ET (7:00pm PT) Season one of the critically acclaimed drama will conclude on Saturday, March 5. And for anyone who isn’t yet roped in on the first season, WE will air all 22 episodes on March 12 and 13.

McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS follows the lives of five extraordinary women living in a rugged environment, experiencing the hardships of working the land in a man’s world. An all female contemporary western, the series focuses on two feisty and beautiful sisters who pull together an all female workforce when they inherit an Australian cattle ranch. The women drive the herds and shear the sheep at Drover’s Run, and still find time to encounter romance, laughter and sometimes heartache, while discovering that their love and respect for the land and for each other is ultimately their key to survival and happiness. The second season of McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS promises more unexpected twists while tension builds between the characters and scandalous secrets are uncovered.

For season two, McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS continues to anchor the network’s Saturday night programming lineup. The schedule will be as follows:

Sat 3/12, 12pm – 11pm Marathon of first half of season 1 episodes
Sun 3/13, 12pm – 11pm Marathon of second half of season 1 episodes
Sat 3/19, 10pm – 11pm Premiere of first episode of season 2

McLEOD’S DAUGHTERS stars Bridie Carter as “Tess Silverman” and Lisa Chappell as “Claire McLeod.” Chappell was born and bred in New Zealand, and is the recent winner of the Australian LOGIE Award for Most Popular New Actress. And Carter grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and has worked consistently in Australian film since graduating from the National Institute of Dramatic Arts in 1994. Both are talented actresses whose stars are on the rise. They have become household names in Australia and have been called the next best thing from Down Under since Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts.
