WE TV’S “LOVE AFTER LOCKUP” CONTINUES AS THE #1 CABLE ORIGINAL SERIES ON FRIDAY NIGHTS

Season 3 mid-season finale scored over 1.2 million total viewers and delivered season-high viewership among key demos

The series helped make WE tv the #1 cable network on Friday nights every single week during its eight-week run among key demos

NEW YORK, NY — September 11, 2020 — WE tv’s word-of-mouth viral phenomenon “Love After Lockup” continues to be a breakaway hit with viewers, as the series concludes the first half of Season 3 as the #1 original series on Friday nights across all of cable among key demos of women and adults 18-49 and 25-54 in both Nielsen L+3 and L+7. The mid-season finale of the popular series, which aired on Friday, September 4th, delivered season-high viewership among the key demos of women 18-49 and total viewers in Nielsen Live+3, scoring 1.2 million total viewers for the episode. Over its eight-week run, “Love After Lockup” drove WE tv to the #1 cable network spot on Friday nights every single week among key demos of women and adults 18-49 and 25-54 in Nielsen Live+3.

During its third season, “Love After Lockup” tracked among the top 1% of most talked about Reality TV shows, ahead of other popular reality shows, and was among the top 2% of the fastest growing Reality TV shows across social channels. The series was also the #1 most talked about program among WE tv originals, with the top social post tracking 20-times ahead of the show’s year-to-date average.

For 2020 to date, “Love After Lockup” ranks as a Top 4 original program on Friday nights across all cable networks among women 18-49 and 25-54 in both Nielsen Live+3 and Live+7. Additionally, this first half of Season 3 of “Love After Lockup” scored the highest Live+3 season average among total viewers and adults 25-54 since the first half of its second season in 2018.

The second half of Season 3 returns later this year, with spinoff series “Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup” debuting a talent-filmed series on Friday, September 11th. This special four-part event features a mix of unseen footage and self-shot stories captured during quarantine using cell phones, Go Pros, video diaries, and interviews recorded on Skype.

“Love After Lockup,” the obsession-inducing docuseries that chronicles couples making the complicated transition to love on the ‘outside’ when one partner is released from prison, was the fastest-growing new cable reality series for 2018 and successfully debuted spinoff “Love After Lockup: Life After Lockup” in Summer 2019.
