WE: Women’s Entertainment Keeps Viewers on the Edge of Their Seats With New Season of Original Series “Winning Women”

Alexandra Paul Hosts Female Extreme Sports Series Premiering April 19

JERICHO, NY, April 15, 2003 – WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT presents the second season of the action packed series, WINNING WOMEN. Hosted by actress and extreme sports competitor, Alexandra Paul ("Melrose Place", "Baywatch"), this high-energy adventure series launches on Saturday, April 19 at 6:30 PM (ET). Each week we follow amazing women as they conquer mountains, survive the surf and challenge Mother Nature.

Women have emerged on top in the male dominated world of extreme sports and continue to shatter records and barriers in the world of sports today. This season, viewers will get a glimpse at the lives of these remarkable women including Sarah Will, a disabled skier who has won three gold medals in the Disabled Olympics. Sarah lost use of her legs in a skiing accident, but worked hard to make it back out to the slopes only a year later. 48 year-old snowboarder and in-line skater Donna Vano just made the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's oldest female in-line skater. Defying the effects of age, she didn't start competing until 1991 and has since won numerous snowboarding and skating competitions. San Diego Firefighter, Robin Benincasa became one of the first Americans to win the grueling Eco-Challenge and also finished first in the equally challenging Raid Gauloises Race in 1998.

Each week viewers will learn about the ups and downs of becoming an extreme sports competitor through in-depth interviews and clips of awesome performances. The amazing stories of these exceptional women; heroines who not only excel physically, but who have made it their life's work to contribute to the advancement of women's athletics are sure to inspire the athlete in us all.

"The series is inspirational because it profiles real women accomplishing extraordinary athletic feats," comments host Alexandra Paul. "They are women anyone can relate to, because the show reveals their fears, their struggles and shows us how they got to where they are now."

Actress Alexandra Paul has an extensive career on television. She joined the cast of the popular Aaron Spelling series "Melrose Place" for their final eight episodes and has appeared in more than a dozen television movies. Alexandra was a regular cast member on the hit series "Baywatch" for five years and was most recently seen on the reunion special, "Baywatch Hawaiian Wedding." In addition to her acting credits, Alexandra is an avid athlete. In 1997, Alexandra spent nine months training for the WORLD IRONMAN TRIATHLON CHAMPIONSHIPS in Hawaii (a grueling 2.44 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride, and 26.2 mile marathon) which she completed in 13:18:52.
