IFC Productions Wins First-Ever For Network

The Independent Film Channel (IFC) Productions landed the first-ever Oscar win in the history of the network as Hilary Swank, star of the IFC Production Boys Don’t Cry, took home the Academy Award for Best Actress for her groundbreaking performance. “The recognition of the Academy for Kimberly Peirce’s Boys Don’t Cry illustrates the continuing popularity and importance of independent film,” comments Jonathan Sehring, President, IFC Films. “The success of this film is a great achievement for IFC Productions and the network.”
