BOSTON, MA, July 18, 2006 – At today’s CTAM Summit, Rainbow Media announced several programming and brand initiatives further demonstrating its industry leadership and commitment to creating groundbreaking original programming.

Rainbow Media’s CTAM Summit booth #300 will showcase its popular and well known entertainment brands AMC, IFC, WE tv, fuse, Mag Rack, and sportskool and highlight its advances and vision for its VOD, HD and Day-and-Date services and expanding broadband content.

CTAM Summit Announcement from AMC:

AMC RECORDS STRONGEST Q2 EVER WITH RELEASE OF FIRST ORIGINAL MOVIE, BROKEN TRAIL
AMC’s premiere of its first-ever original movie event, Broken Trail shattered ratings records on Sunday, June 25th and Monday, June 26th. The epic western-themed movie, executive produced by and starring Academy Award® winner Robert Duvall, was the second most watched cable movie since 1995 and was the #1 telecast for household and key demo deliveries among all cable for 2006. Broken Trail delivered the network all time record ratings, averaging a stellar 7.7 HH Rating and 6.8 million HH delivery for the two-night premiere. Sunday’s telecast was the most watched program across the total television universe for the night.

On the heels of the Broken Trail ratings success, AMC announced today that the network’s 2Q prime represent its strongest 2nd quarter performance ever in HH ratings and household delivery (1.20 HH RTG, over 1 million homes). AMC is a top 15 network in Primetime delivery of total viewers, Adults and Men 25-54 as well as Men 18-49. In addition, with the help of Broken Trail’s record-breaking performance, June yielded AMC its strongest month ever in primetime.

CTAM Summit Announcement from fuse:

PANTS-OFF, DANCE-OFF BEST OF EPISODES W/ HOST JODIE SWEETIN PREMIERE TODAY
fuse, the nation’s only viewer-influenced, music television network, will feature Jodie Sweetin — formerly known child star who played “Stephanie” on “Full House” — as host of the special best of episodes from the popular dancing game show Pants-Off, Dance-Off. The series features all walks of life, young and old, men and women, dancing to popular music videos for the chance to win bragging rights and some hard earned cash prizes. Since the show’s launch on April 18th, the website has featured snippets of the series which has led to record increases to the site, up to 300 percent. The first “best of” show premieres Tuesday, July 18th at 10:00 PM EST.

CTAM Summit Announcement from IFC:

IFC BOASTS EXTENSIVE PRESENCE AT COMIC-CON 2006

IFC announced today that the network will have a broad presence at Comic-Con in San Diego, CA from July 20-23, including an exclusive sponsorship and a network booth (#4213, Hall G) showcasing a number of IFC’s original programs and initiatives. The IFC Original Doc This Film Is Not Yet Rated will be screened at The Independent Film Festival on Thursday, July 20, and the network will also be the exclusive sponsor of The Independent Film Festival at the event. Additional branding presence will include a 40×20 foot banner in the registration area, positioning on the event website, in the film guide, and at the screening theaters. Below is an overview of activity at the IFC booth each day of the event, dubbed the “4 Days of IFC TV at Comic-Con:”

Thursday, July 20, 2006 – IFC Original Doc This Film Is Not Yet Rated

  • IFC will distribute “ratings” buttons, PG-13, R, NC-17, that allow event attendees to announce their choice rating. The buttons will be attached to small postcards that promote the screening of the film that evening and a website where people can sign an online petition launched by filmmaker Kirby Dick and IFC. The petition drive is designed to bring about a major overhaul in the Motion Picture Association of America’s ratings system for movies, with the goal of bringing greater transparency and accountability to the ratings process.

Friday, July 21, 2006 – IFC Serial Programming Greg the Bunny and Samurai 7

  • IFC’s very own Greg the Bunny and his sidekick Warren the Ape will be taking photos with attendees, that will be made into buttons, at the IFC booth from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
  • At the booth IFC will be distributing Samurai 7 DVDs and promotional stickers.

Saturday, July 22, 2006 – IFC Original Series The Henry Rollins Show

  • IFC will host Henry Rollins from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at the IFC booth for autograph signings. The Henry Rollins Show t-shirts and mini-posters will also be handed out at the booth.

Sunday, July 23, 2006 – IFC Online Initiative Media Lab

  • IFC will have computers available for attendees to view and vote on their favorite Media Lab films. “Best of Media Lab” DVDs will be handed out to all attendees and when an attendee goes online and votes on their favorite Media Lab film they will be automatically entered to win a High Def video camera.

CTAM Summit Announcement from Mag Rack:

KRAFT FOODS TO SPONSOR MAG RACK FEMALE-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING
Mag Rack announced this week Kraft Foods as the on-air sponsor of the network’s female-oriented program category. Kraft receives category and network exclusivity within each series title from July through September, 2006. For a three-month period, the following Mag Rack categories will be packaged with 15- or 30-second pre-roll spots for Kraft in each segment of the following categories: “Katie Brown @ Home”; “The Pet Shop with Marc Morrone”; “Cook with the Pros”; “Mama Gena’s” and “Inside Weddings”. Additionally, Kraft will also be provided with two immersive advertising assets per program title.

CTAM Summit Announcement from sportskool:

sportskool LAUNCHING PARTNERSHIP WITH NAT’L ALLIANCE FOR YOUTH SPORTS:
Rainbow Media’s sportskool announced today its long-term marketing and sponsorship partnership with the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS). The cornerstone of the NAYS philosophy is an emphasis on the training and education of everyone involved in youth sports – including coaches, parents, administrators and officials. The partnership launches in August 2006 with on-air and internet cross-promotion and direct marketing programs within sportskool‘s soccer, baseball, volleyball, lacrosse and golf categories. On-air programming content within these categories will be provided by NAYS. Event marketing and public affairs initiatives are currently in development.

CTAM Summit Announcement from VOOM HD:

RAVE HD PREMIERES FIRST ORIGINAL SERIES, BEAUTIFUL NOISE, JULY 21
VOOM HD Networks’ Rave HD, the first music channel dedicated to delivering a larger than life concert experience in crystal clear hi-definition and 5.1 Dolby digital surround sound, will premiere “Beautiful Noise,” the channel’s first original series devoted entirely to up-and-coming and critically-acclaimed talent, on July 21st at 10:00 PM EST. Each of the 13 hour-long episodes are filmed in front of a live studio audience where viewers can discover featured artists’ music and background with live performances and interviews, which will air with amazing vibrancy in both picture and sound. Featured artists in the first season include Cowboy Junkies and Jeff Healey.
