AMC Expands Business Affairs Team

New York, NY — September 25, 2012 — AMC has expanded its business affairs team with two appointments to the department. Aleksandar Stojkovic and Scott Stein have been named Vice President of business affairs. Stojkovic is focused primarily on negotiation and oversight of deals and series in the unscripted arena, including development, production and distribution related matters, including business affairs oversight of AMC series: The Pitch, Small Town Security and Comic Book Men, along with new recently announced series Immortalized and Freakshow. Stein is primarily focused on AMC’s original scripted programming including all aspects of deal making from development to production, which includes the network’s new pilots: “Low Winter Sun” and “Untitled Philly Lawyer.” Stojkovic and Stein are based in Los Angeles and report to Marci Wiseman, Head of Business Affairs for AMC.

“AMC’s slate of original programming, both scripted and unscripted, has grown exponentially in the past 3 years. Aleks and Scott are both experienced business affairs executives with expertise in deal making, development and production, as well as with licensing and ownership models,” stated Wiseman.“Their combination of experience, knowledge and vision will serve AMC as it continues to grow its original programming slate.”

Prior to AMC, Stojkovic was at The Angel City Factory, a production company where he worked on series such as Mobbed and Home Takeover with Simon and Tomas. He also consulted on business and legal affairs for Zoo Productions where he negotiated, drafted and reviewed talent agreements, as well as option, production, employment, and participant agreements for numerous series and pilots. Stojkovic began his career at Rocket Science Laboratories, eventually serving as General Counsel and Business Affairs where he negotiated, drafted, and reviewed countless development, production, co-production, distribution and talent/participant agreements for various domestic and international television productions and series, including Temptation Island, Joe Millionaire, Trading Spouses, Renovate My Family, Bullrun, Duel and Must Love Kids. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley and his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University School of Law where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Stojkovic is also a member of the Los Angeles Copyright Society where he additionally served on the Board of Directors from 2005 – 2007.

Prior to AMC, Stein was the Head of Business Affairs and Operations at Harpo Films, Inc. where he negotiated and drafted all agreements related to the development, production, finance and exploitation of scripted television and theatrical motion picture programming. He concurrently added Executive in Charge of Production duties on the “Oprah Winfrey Presents” long-form franchise. Previously, he served as a television attorney at Jackoway, Tyerman, Wertheimer, Austen, Mandelbaum, Morris & Klein where he represented the firm’s writer/producer, actor, director and production company clients. Stein received his Bachelor of Business Administration at Emory University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law Center.
