AMC NETWORKS’ FILM GROUP ANNOUNCES EXPANDED SENIOR LEADERSHIP TEAM WITH KEY HIRES AND PROMOTIONS

NEW YORK – August 10, 2023 – AMC Networks announced today a number of key hires and promotions at its Film Group encompassing its three distinctive film brands, including IFC Films, RLJE Films and films for the Shudder streaming service.  Nicole Weis joins the company as Vice President of Distribution for IFC Films, managing theatrical rollout for the Film Group’s robust slate of titles, and will report to Scott Shooman, who was recently appointed as Head of AMC Networks’ Film Group.  Judy Woloshen also joins as Vice President of Public Relations managing national publicity efforts across the three film brands, reporting to Olivia Dupuis, Senior Vice President of Public Relations. The Film Group also announced a number of new promotions, including: IFC Films’ Matt Landers promoted to Senior Vice President of Marketing, reporting to Kim Granito, Head of Marketing for AMC Networks; Danielle Freiberg, promoted to Vice President of Festivals and Publicity, reporting to Dupuis; Adam Koehler, promoted to Director of Acquisitions reporting to Shooman; Jamie Righetti to Director of Marketing reporting to Landers; and Tatiana Faris to Manager of Distribution, reporting to Weis.

Previously, Weis was VP of Sales and Distribution at A24Films, where she handled sales for many titles, including the Oscar Award-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Whale and Minari, as well as Uncut Gems, Midsommar, Marcel The Shell and The Farewell. Prior to A24, Weis worked at Universal Pictures and Focus Features, working on such IP, blockbusters and award-winning films as Jurassic World, the Fast and Furious Films, Despicable Me, Get Out, Halloween, Straight out of Compton, Girls Trip, Green Book, Phantom Thread, Darkest Hour, Won’t You Be My Neighbor and Blackkklansman, among others.

Woloshen most recently was Vice President of Publicity at AMC Networks where she oversaw the launches of linear and streaming programming, including the second season of the Emmy Award-winning anthology series State of the Union.  Prior to that, she was the Vice President of National Publicity at Focus Features, leading theatrical and Academy Award-winning campaigns for titles such as Harriet, Blackkklansman, The Theory of Everything, On the Basis of Sex, Mary Queen of Scots, Victoria & Abdul, The Beguiled, Phantom Thread, Loving and Dallas Buyers Club, among others.  Additionally, she has worked in-house at studios such as ThinkFilm, Warner Bros. and Fox Searchlight where she managed award-winning titles including The Wrestler, Fantastic Mr. Fox, 500 Days of Summer, Never Let Me Go and Black Swan.

Landers joined IFC Films in 2015 and has overseen theatrical and ancillary marketing campaigns for over 400 new releases, including THE DEATH OF STALIN, WILDLIFE, WEINER, THE RENTAL and 45 YEARS (Academy Award Nominee, Best Actress Charlotte Rampling).  He was also responsible for executing the innovative launch of IFC Films Unlimited catalogue subscription service in 2019, one of the first and fastest growing movies-only services of its kind at launch. Prior to IFC Films, he was at The Orchard, where he  oversaw Marketing, PR and Distribution for all theatrical releases from the launch of their Movies division, including THE OVERNIGHT, DIOR AND I and the Academy Award-nominated documentary CARTEL LAND. He also previously held positions with Sony Classics, Oscilloscope and Tribeca Film.

Freiberg has been with IFC Films since 2012, specializing in regional publicity and promotion, working with film festivals across the U.S. and internationally and spearheading events and grassroots initiatives in collaboration with external agencies. Throughout her tenure, she has worked on numerous critically acclaimed and award-winning films, including BOYHOOD, TWO DAYS ONE NIGHT, BLAZE, 45 YEARS, THE DEATH OF STALIN, THE BABADOOK, WEREWOLVES WITHIN, THE RENTAL, HAPPENING, MLK/FBI, BAD AXE and CORSAGE, among others. Prior to joining IFC Films, Freiberg was at Allied Integrated Marketing, where she handled Boston promotional campaigns for studios like IFC Films, Universal, Disney and Sony.  Beyond her professional achievements, Freiberg has worked with Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group, overseeing charity events and partnerships with organizations like No Kid Hungry and The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.

Koehler has been in film acquisition for nine years having led acquisitions on award-winning IFC Films titles such as HUNTER, HUNTER, SKINAMARINK, VESPER and BAD AXE.  Prior to IFC Films, he worked at Sundance Institute and FilmRise.

Righetti joined IFC Films in 2020 and has worked on marketing campaigns for The Lost King, Both Sides of the Blade, Watcher and Benedetta, among many others. Prior to joining IFC, she worked for IndieWire, Sesame Workshop and BBC Studios.

Faris joined IFC Films in 2020 working across a number of theatrical campaigns, including WATCHER, SKINAMARINK and BLACKBERRY, among others. She was previously at Greenwich Entertainment.

AMC Networks Film Group’s recent successes include the horror sensation SKINAMARINK, THE LOST KING from director Stephen Frears, and critically acclaimed BLACKBERRY from director Matt Johnson. Upcoming premieres across the three film brands include Shudder’s BIRTH/REBIRTH, from Laura Moss, on August 18 as well as RLJE’s Suitable Flesh, from director Joe Lynch and starring Heather Graham and Barbara Crampton, and THE DISAPPEARANCE OF SHERE HITE, from director Nicole Newnham, later this year.
