AMC NETWORKS’ PRESIDENT OF ADVERTISING SALES SCOTT COLLINS TO STEP DOWN FROM COMPANY AS SUCCESSFUL 2020 UPFRONT CONCLUDES

Collins Joined AMCN In 2008, Has Led Company’s Ad Sales Group Since 2017

NEW YORK, NY, August 5, 2019 – AMC Networks today announced that Scott Collins, who has been the company’s president of advertising sales since 2017, will step down at the end of August after completing another successful upfront, his 12th since joining the company. Mr. Collins, who joined AMC Networks in 2008, has played a key role in driving the company’s relationships with an expanding array of major advertisers during a period in which it transformed itself into a major force in original programming and driver of popular culture.

Under Mr. Collin’s leadership, advertising sales revenue has grown three-fold across AMC and its entire portfolio of well-defined networks, including BBC America, IFC, SundanceTV and WE tv. Mr. Collins and his team have forged innovative partnerships with advertisers across all major categories, delivering enormous value to brands associated with the networks’ critically acclaimed original content. More recently, Mr. Collins led the formation of the company’s data-driven sales initiatives, selling and guaranteeing advanced audiences across TV and digital.

“Scott has played a critical role in driving ad sales over more than a decade at AMC Networks, including running our ad sales operation over the last three years,” said AMC Network CEO Josh Sapan. “The growth of our company and ability to entertain and delight fans with original programming across five networks has been made possible in large part by our expanding relationships with leading advertisers, and Scott has been at the center of those relationships and conversations for more than a decade. We wish him all the best as he pursues his next adventure.”

“It has been a privilege and honor to run an industry-leading ad sales organization across five vibrant and distinctive networks and brands,” said Mr. Collins. “I am proud of the accomplishments of our ad sales team and our colleagues from across the company to drive this business forward on the strength of our compelling content and the ability to use that content to deliver value for advertisers. As Don Draper said so eloquently, ‘Success comes from standing out, not fitting in.’ For more than a decade, AMC Networks has stood out in an expanding sea of original content, players and platforms, and am proud to have been a part of it.”

Mr. Collins, who will leave to pursue new opportunities at the end of the month, joined AMC Networks in 2008 as senior vice president of advertising sales for WE tv. He took on growing responsibilities in the company’s ad sales group over the years, as executive vice president of advertising sales for the company and president of advertising sales since 2017. Earlier in his career, he was vice president of national ad sales for NBC Universal Cable Entertainment, where he oversaw ad sales activities for USA Network and the Sci-Fi Channel. Prior to NBCU, Mr. Collins was at A&E Television Networks, where he served as an account executive for A&E and The History Channel. His early career includes roles as a senior account executive at Eyemark Group W and as a research analyst for Nielsen Media Research.
