AMC’s Movies You’ll Thank Us For Sponsored By Sears

Thanksgiving Weekend Movie Marathon running from
Nov 24-27
Includes Premiere Event of “The In-Laws”

New York, NY, November 21, 2005 – AMC, basic cable’s premiere destination dedicated to movies and movie culture, announced today that Sears has signed on to sponsor, Movies You’ll Thank Us For, a thanksgiving weekend movie marathon, showcasing popular dramatic and comedic films from the past three decades. The entire weekend marathon will run from November 24-27.

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Sears will receive 60 second customized movie minute vignettes featuring movie clips of Field of Dreams, as well as integration of their new wish big holiday shopping creative. Sears’s movie wrap ups and billboards will air throughout the entire month of December.

For the first time on network television, during the weekend movie marathon, AMC will present the 2003 Warner Brothers action-comedy The In-Laws from director Andrew Fleming (Dick, The Craft) and starring Oscar? winner Michael Douglas and acclaimed comedian Albert Brooks. The film will premiere on AMC Sunday, November 27 and runs back-to-back at 8 PM and 10 PM ET/PT.

“This programming block provides a good opportunity for Sears to reach families just as the holiday shopping season gets going,” said Arlene Manos, President, Rainbow National Network Advertising Sales. “We are pleased to offer this great line-up of programming to our movie-loving audience.”

AMC retains the exclusive television exhibition rights to 22 films from Warner Bros. Domestic Cable Distribution, including the network window for such mega-hits as Two Weeks Notice, Million Dollar Baby, The Last Samurai, Ocean’s 12, Troy and Mystic River, as well as the upcoming Batman Begins. The agreement further expands the network’s movie library, while building on its strategy to serve the full spectrum of moviegoers.

Other titles to be included in Movies You’ll Thank Us For will include Say Anything, Field of Dreams, The Natural, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Money Pit, When Harry Met Sally, Clear & Present Danger, Point Break, Young Guns 1 & 2, and The Graduate.

AMC’s commitment to the original programming genre has garnered record ratings growth for the first 3 quarters of 2005, leading to the best season ever in the history of the network. The 04/05 season ranked as the network’s strongest ever in Primetime HH ratings, Household, A18-49 & A25-54 deliveries. Additionally, AMC ranked among the top 20 networks in primetime performance of key demos.
