Sponsorship to Run in December

New York, NY, November 30, 2005 – AMC, basic cable's premiere destination dedicated to movies and movie culture, announced today that AOL has signed on as the December sponsor for Movies That Shook the World. The half-hour weekly documentary series, exploring the most influential movies of all time, airs every Friday at 10 pm ET/PT.
Beginning December 2, Movies That Shook the World features the motion picture Philadelphia, Jonathan Demme's film starring Oscar® winner Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. The following week, on December 9, is the Blair Witch Project, followed by The Graduate on December 16, and ending with 2001: Space Odyssey on December 23.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, AOL receives exclusive interview clips, to run on at AOL.com, that feature Mary Steenburgen discussing the impact of Philadelphia on pop culture. Additionally, AOL receives tagged tune-ins and billboards promoting exclusive content on an in-program call-to-action, to access more Mary Steenburgen interview clips, during the December 2 airing of Philadelphia.

Through in-depth interviews and revealing clips, Movies That Shook the World explores why certain landmark movies were so explosive when they were released, the new paths they blazed, and why they remain so influential today. Additional seminal films previously spotlighted in the series include: Birth of a Nation, Do the Right Thing, Fatal Attraction, The China Syndrome, Last Temptation of Christ, The Exorcist, and American Graffiti. Narrated by actor Jeff Goldblum, the series features members of the creative community including directors Spike Lee and Adrian Lyne; actors Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Anne Archer, Rosie Perez; as well as politicians, authors and scholars, who weigh in on the cultural changes that these films reflected.
AMC's commitment to celebrate movie culture while connecting TV viewers with informed and entertaining programming has raised the network to new heights in ratings and delivery. Its new investment in stronger film titles, programming stunts and specials and original programming has had a tremendous impact in 2004 and 2005, providing AMC with its best season ever in the history of the network.
