BBC AMERICA’S BREAKOUT DRAMA KILLING EVE POSTS UNBROKEN STREAK OF RATINGS GROWTH FROM PREMIERE TO THIS SUNDAY’S SEASON ONE FINALE

Only Scripted Series In More Than A Decade To Achieve Consecutive Ratings Growth Over Its First Seven Episodes In Both Adults 25-54 and 18-49 Demos

Series Is A Top 5 Best Reviewed Drama Of 2018

New York, NY – Friday, May 25, 2018 – BBC AMERICA’s breakout drama Killing Eve has matched critical acclaim and buzz with consistent viewership gains not seen by any scripted series on television in more than a decade. Leading into Sunday’s season one finale, the show has posted an unbroken streak of ratings growth in the key adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 demos stretching all the way back to its premiere. Across seven weeks, the series grew a total of 47 percent in total viewers, 90 percent in adults 25-54 and 94 percent in 18-49 from its premiere episode on April 8 in Nielsen live+3 ratings. The penultimate episode last Sunday delivered 986,000 total viewers, 455,000 adults 25-54, and 367,000 adults 18-49, all series highs.

Killing Eve is one of the top 5 best reviewed dramas of the year according to Metacritic and is Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 95%.

The season finale of Killing Eve airs on Sunday, May 27that 8/7c on BBC AMERICA and has already been renewed for a second season. Viewers can watch episodes 4-7 on BBC AMERICA on Sunday from 9:00am – 1:00pm ET and can watch the first seven episodes on demand on BBCAmerica.com and on the BBCA app.

Starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer, Killing Eve centers on two women; Eve (Oh) is a bored, whip-smart, pay-grade MI5 security officer whose desk-bound job doesn’t fulfill her fantasies of being a spy. Villanelle (Comer) is a mercurial, talented killer who clings to the luxuries her violent job affords her. Penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and based on the novellas by Luke Jennings, Killing Eve follows these two women, equally obsessed with each other, as they go head to head in an epic game of cat and mouse.

Killing Eve was commissioned in 2016 for BBC AMERICA by President and GM Sarah Barnett, and Nena Rodrigue, EVP of Original Programming, Acquisitions and Production; executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris and Phoebe Waller-Bridge who also served as head writer and showrunner for the series.
