FOX Sports Net Bay Area Hires Mindi Bach as 11PM Regional Sports Report Reporter

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — FOX Sports Net Bay Area today announced the hiring of Mindi Bach as a reporter for the 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT. The announcement was made by Ted Griggs, FOX Sports Net Bay Area’s Vice President of Programming and Operations.

The 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT, a 30-minute live local sports news show, launches on Monday, July 31st. The nightly 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT provides heavy emphasis on key local stories and scores, and important national stories and how they impact local fans.

Bach comes to FOX Sports Net after two years (June 1998-May 2000) as a reporter/anchor/writer for KTXL-FOX 40 in Sacramento, CA. At San Franciso’s BayTV, she worked as a freelance reporter for the evening newscast (January 1999-April 1999). Bach also spent time at Medford, Oregon’s, KOBI-TV (April 1997-September 1998) as an anchor/reporter for the evening newscast and a sideline reporter for the station’s Friday night high school football game.

Bach may already be familiar to FOX Sports Net’s viewers, having served as reporter/associate producer for Cal Sports Magazine and anchor/associate producer for SportsChannel Light. She also worked as a segment producer for Sports in the Classroom. Bach has worked with FOX Sports Net (formerly SportsChannel Pacific) on a freelance basis since 1995.

“We are pleased to have Mindi as a reporter for the 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT,” said Griggs. “Mindi’s expertise and wealth of knowledge of the Northern California sports scene makes her the ideal reporter for this show. She is a welcome addition to the FOX Sports Net team.”

“The 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT will give fans more in-depth Northern California sports news than any other locally produced show,” said Bach. “We will be the ultimate destination for news about Northern California’s professional teams, while providing an inside look at the top collegiate and scholastic stories. For the Northern California sports fan, it does not get better than this, and I’m thrilled to be part of this exciting venture.”

Raised in Chico, CA, Bach graduated with a Master of Science degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications from the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, Bach was the co-captain of the women’s swim team. Bach attended Chico Senior High School and graduated in 1987.

Concentrating on local sports stories from all corners of Northern California, the 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT is a complement to FOX Sports Net’s NATIONAL SPORTS REPORT at 10 PM and midnight, and is followed at 11:30 PM by THE LAST WORD WITH JIM ROME.

Bach joins lead anchor Paul Calvisi on FOX Sports Net Bay Area’s on-air roster for the 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT. The network will announce the hiring of another reporter in the near future. Announcements of other appointments related to the 11PM REGIONAL SPORTS REPORT will be made on a periodic basis leading up to the show’s July 31 launch.
