Fox Sports Net Florida Kicks Off The 2001 Major League Baseball Season Live From Florida Marlins Fan Fest

SUNRISE, FL – Fox Sports Net Florida begins the 2001 Major League Baseball season with a live one-hour special from Florida Marlins Fan Fest on January 20th at 11am at Pro Player Stadium. Fox Sports Net will continue preseason coverage with 3 live Spring Training telecasts in March. Fox Sports Net’s complete 95-game regular season schedule will be released in the coming weeks.

Jay Randolph returns as host of Florida Marlins Fan Fest and will be joined by the rest of the Fox Sports Net telecast team, Dave O’Brien and Tommy Hutton. The live one-hour show will feature player, coach and team personnel interviews, and provide fans with an upclose, behind-the-scenes look at the 2001 Marlins. Fans will get upclose with newly signed catcher and South Florida favorite, Charles Johnson along with Preston Wilson, Mike Lowell, John Boles, Dave Dombrowski and Chuck Smith. Joining the telecast team of Randolph, O’Brien and Hutton for Florida Marlins Fan Fest, will be Marlins Strike Zone host Stephie Bercuson. Stephie will provide fans a look around Fan Fest’s exciting activities. Stephie returns to Fox Sports Net this season as host of Marlins Strike Zone, a weekly, unique look at the Florida Marlins for kids and their families.

Fans can stop by the Fox Sports Net booth to pick up this year’s commemorative FSN baseball poster. The entire telecast team will also be available to sign autographs at the Fox Sports Net booth. Dave O’Brien and Tommy Hutton will be available 12:30-1:15pm and Jay Randolph and Stephie will be signing 1:15-2pm.

Spring Training action on Fox Sports Net will consist of three live spring training games in March from the Marlins facility in Viera, FL. The three featured match ups include Sunday, March 4th at 1:05pm against the NY Mets, Saturday, March 17th at 1:05pm against the LA Dodgers and Tuesday, March 27th at 6:05pm against the Baltimore Orioles. This season, Jay Randolph will once again serve as pregame host of Marlins On-Deck along with O’Brien and Hutton calling the game action.
