Presented By The Boston Herald

Celtics Fan of the Year

Celtics fans are passionate about the Green and over the second half of the Celtics season, Fox Sports Net is asking fans to prove it. On the last weeknight game of each week in January, February and March (12 total nights), FSN will display one fan picture during its Celtics telecast. At the final Celtics home game on April 14, three Fan of the Year candidates will compete on center court for the right to be named Celtics Fan of the Year.

To give fans a chance to enter, FSN will be taking pictures of fans on Friday, January 9; Friday, February 6; and Friday, March 5 on the Concourse Level of the Fleet Center. FSN encourages fans to dress up as the Celtics’ Number One fan and have their picture taken by FSN. One of those fans could be displayed during FSN’s Celtics-Cleveland telecast and become the first contender for the Fan of the Year finals on April 14.

Fans can also enter at any time by sending their Celtics super fan picture, along with an entry form found in the Boston Herald Sports section.

As the NFL playoffs continue, FSN realizes there’s never enough football coverage, so TOTALLY FOOTBALL is now on five days a week. The 30-minute show focuses on all aspects of football. Host Patrick O’Neal and regular NFL Insider Jay Glazer team up with a cast of insiders and analysts looking at NFL and college football games, detailing match-ups and giving up-close looks at teams and players. The show now airs Mon. through Fri. at 6:00 PM local time.

LATE NIGHT POKER

Fox Sports Net takes another seat at the poker table with LATE NIGHT POKER. The 30-minute telecasts starts Jan. 12, 2004, bringing viewers the world’s best poker five nights a week.

Taped in a dark studio in Wales with a poker lounge ambiance, LNP offers much more drama and action than any other poker show. Viewers get to know the players and their strategies. Unlike American productions of poker that use lipstick cameras to view the players’ cards, LNP has under-the-table cameras so viewers can see the cards throughout the entire hand.

Announcer Jesse May, who called Fox Sports Net’s successful Thanksgiving poker tournament “Showdown at the Sands,” is joined by analyst Barney Boatman. Produced as a series of one-hour shows in Britain, FSN cuts each episode down to the best 30 minutes, airing daily at 12:00AM local on Fox Sports Net Rainbow affiliates.

BEYOND THE GLORY

Fox Sports Net airs a special updated episode of the critically acclaimed documentary series, BEYOND THE GLORY, featuring legendary baseball great Pete Rose. Airing on Sun., Jan 18th at 9:00 PM local time, this episode, which originally aired July 8th, 2001, brings us up to date discussing Rose’s new book, “My Prison Without Bars” and his revelations about gambling.
