Fox Sports Net Teams Up With The Devil Rays For the Fox Sports Net Home Run Challenge on August 14

Second Annual Fundraising Event to Benefit the Rays of Hope Foundation

(SUNRISE, FL) – Fox Sports Net and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays have teamed up for the second annual Fox Sports Net Home Run Challenge on Thursday, August 14th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Tropicana Field to benefit the Rays of Hope Foundation.

This special event will bring together the Devil Ray's front office, area business sponsors, and the media for an unforgettable time on the field while raising funds for the local community. All net proceeds will be donated to the Rays of Hope Foundation, which is dedicated to the education and welfare of children in the Tampa Bay community.

"We are delighted to return for a second year with the Fox Sports Net Home Run Challenge," said Jeff Genthner, Fox Sports Net Florida's Senior Vice President and General Manager. "Last year's event was a hit and I'm so pleased we were able to help make a difference in the lives of those in the Tampa Bay community. I'm sure this year's event will be equally successful as we continue to build a new tradition in Tampa Bay."

For a $500.00 tax-deductible entry fee, each player on a four-member batting team will have the opportunity to step up to home plate and take 15 swings from a pitching machine. Each team will earn points upon distance of each hit. The team earning the most cumulative points will win a catered luxury suite at a Rays game, team autographed baseball bats, along with bragging rights and a traveling trophy until the 2004 competition.

The Rays of Hope Foundation delivers the presence of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to the community by working with agencies and charitable causes, whose primary emphasis is dedicated to the development, education and welfare of children.
