Fox Sports Net To Televise 2002 Mid American Conference Basketball

Regional Sports Network to Provide Coverage of Men's and Women's Hoop Action

CLEVELAND – Fox Sports Net Ohio announced today its 2002 Mid American Conference men's and women's basketball schedules. Steve Liverani, senior vice president and general manager, Fox Sports Net Ohio, made the announcement.

As the sixth oldest conference in the nation, the MAC is steeped in tradition. The storied past of this conference has built local rivalries and heated competitions. The MAC telecast package will feature 10 men's games and seven women's match-ups.

The men's basketball schedule tips-off on Saturday, January 26 at 12 pm and features Kent State and Bowling Green. Throughout the season, featured teams will include Marshall, Miami of Ohio, Akron, and Ball State.

Live coverage of women's basketball action will begin on Sunday, February 10 at 4:00 PM, as Ohio University visits Northern Illinois. The MAC women's basketball schedule will culminate in the telecast of the conference tournament semifinal and championship. Championship weekend will take place on March 8 and 9.

"Fox Sports Net's coverage of men's and women's MAC basketball will offer sports fans some of the area's most exciting regional match-ups," said Liverani. "We are excited to be able to bring these games home to the fans."
