FSN New England Selects FanCaster Jack Lamson of Amesbury to Interview Boston Sports Celebrities at Stars & Strikes Benefit

BURLINGTON, MA – FSN New England announced today that Jack Lamson of Amesbury was chosen as the FSN FanCaster for the second annual Stars & Strikes benefit to be held at KINGS on Thursday, June 22.

Stars & Strikes is a celebrity bowling tournament to benefit the initiatives of the Massachusetts Governor's Committee on Physical Fitness & Sports and will feature a reception, live and silent auctions, entertainment, and post party. The celebrity bowling tournament will be hosted by Tom Werner of the Boston Red Sox and Stephen Pagliuca of the Boston Celtics.

As a FSN New England FanCaster, Lamson, a 16-year-old junior at Governor Dummer Academy, gets the chance of a lifetime to meet and interview many of Boston's favorite celebrity and sports idols. Expected to attend the Stars & Strikes event are Tom Brady of the New England Patriots; Terry Francona, Jonathan Papelbon and Kevin Youkilis of the Boston Red Sox; Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey; Ryan Gomes of the Boston Celtics, and many more.

As Jack works the red carpet first-hand, a FSN crew will tape his FanCaster interviews for use on-air.

"Stars & Strikes is the hottest charity event of the summer and the ultimate mix of sports and entertainment," said Nancy Larkin, FSN New England vice president of marketing and development. "Jack will be working side-by-side with other reporters and he will get a real life understanding of a career in the media."

"This is something I have always dreamt of doing," said Lamson. "I am a huge Boston sports fan, so a chance like this is unbelievable."

FSN New England FanCaster is a unique community service program that educates young New England sports fans about careers in sports television. By participating in the program, high school and middle school students get an insider's perspective, including tips and advice from on-air talent, on becoming a sports announcer or reporter.

Over the past three Celtics seasons, FSN New England has selected 100 students from an estimated 1,000 audition tapes to record an on-camera introduction to the Celtics "Heroes Among Us" that is used during FSN's half-time show. FSN New England also hosts special FanCaster experiences throughout the year, which have included student visits to the New England Revolution, Dayton 500, Los Angeles for a Lakers-Celtics game; interviewing Boston Celtics Paul Pierce and Al Jefferson; and covering the star-studded Stars & Strikes Charity Fundraiser.
