IFC Acquires Six New Films In Deal With Buena Vista Television

IFC TO PRESENT NETWORK TELEVISION PREMIERES OF
CRADLE WILL ROCK AND THE STRAIGHT STORY

John Cusack, Robert DeNiro, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Star in Films to Air Through 2003

The Independent Film Channel (IFC), announced today that as a result of an agreement with Buena Vista Television it will add six top, new indie feature film titles including two network television premieres to its programming beginning in 1st quarter 2001 through 4th quarter 2003. The announcement was made by George Lentz, Director, Film Acquisitions, Bravo Networks.

“IFC is about showcasing the best of independent film to the widest possible audience,” remarked Lentz. “These acquisitions further solidifies IFC’s standing as the clear leader in this category.”

Among the titles set to make their network television premiere on IFC in 2002 are: Cradle Will Rock (1999) written and directed by ,bTim Robbinsand starring John Cusack, John Turturro and Susan Sarandon; and The Straight Story (1999) directed by David Lynch and starring Oscar nominee <>Richard Farnsworth.

Rounding out the titles that will air on IFC through 2003 include: ,b>Washington Square (1997) starring Jennifer Jason Leigh and Albert Finney; American Werewolf in Paris (1997) starring Julie Delpy and Tom Everett Scott; Cop Land (1997) starring Robert DeNiro, Ray Liotta, and Sylvester Stallone; and Mimic (1997) starring Mira Sorvino.
