NEW YORK, NY, July 10, 2014 – The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today the 66th Annual Primetime Emmy® Award nominations, honoring IFC with a record eight nominations.  Portlandiagarnered six nominations, the most in the series’ history, including Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series for Fred Armisen, Outstanding Guest Actor In A Comedy Series for Steve Buscemi and repeat nominations in the categories of Outstanding Writing for A Variety Series for Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Jonathan Krisel, Karey Dornetto and Graham Wagner, and Outstanding Directing For A Variety Series for Jonathan Krisel.

In addition, Portlandia was nominated in the technical categories of Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Nonfiction, Reality or Reality-Competition (Tyler Robinson, Schuyler Telleen, Katherine Isom) and Outstanding Single-Camera Picture Editing For a Comedy Series (Bill Benz, Daniel Gray Longino). Portlandia is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video. It returns to IFC for a fifth season in 2015.

IFC’s comedic miniseries The Spoils of Babylon was also recognized today with a nomination for Lead Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie for Kristen Wiig and Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music for Andrew Feltenstein and John Nau. The Spoils of Babylon is produced by Funny or Die and executive produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Matt Piedmont, Andrew Steele and Nate Young. The second installment from the Spoils franchise, The Spoils Before Dying, will premiere in summer 2015.

Portlandia was nominated for Emmy Awards in 2013 and 2012 for Outstanding Writing for A Variety Series (Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, Jonathan Krisel, Bill Oakley) and Outstanding Directing For A Variety Series (Jonathan Krisel).  It won 2013 and 2011 Emmy® Awards for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety Program or Special.  Portlandia was recognized in 2012 with a Peabody Award and in 2013 with a WGA award for best Comedy/Variety Series.
