James Popowytsch Promoted Vice President of Engineering for Rainbow Studios

New York, NY – May 9, 2006 – Rainbow Media announced today the promotion of James Popowtysch to Vice President of Engineering from Director of Engineering for Rainbow Studios. In his new role, Popowtysch will continue to oversee the production facility including streamlining the workflow at the studios, designing the infrastructure of the edit suites, implementing technical requirements for the businesses, and providing senior leadership for all technical projects implemented at Rainbow's Studios. The announcement was made by Michael Lahey, Senior Vice President and General Manager of 11 Penn TV.

"Popowtysch leads the technical support of all Rainbow Media's businesses, including the recent integration of high definition to support the production needs of VOOM HD NETWORKS," said Lahey. "Rainbow Media is committed to producing quality original content, and with Popowtysch leading a team of production and engineering professionals, the Rainbow Studios are fully equipped to support these operations."

Since 2002, Popowtysch has been Director of Engineering at Rainbow Studios, successfully growing the operations at the studio by consolidating all post-production for Rainbow Media's businesses at 11 Penn Plaza in Manhattan. Prior to that, he was the Director of Engineering at the National Video Center, where he was responsible for the maintenance of production and post production facilities in Atlanta, New York and Westport. He was a Senior Engineer at Broadway Video, and has also held Engineer positions at Gramercy Broadcast Center, Nexus Post Production and Cable News Network. He has done freelance work for the startup of Court TV and Lifetime Television, and CNBC at the Dow Jones site and Harborside.

Popowtysch has a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Empire State University and currently resides in New City, New York.
