Favorite Films and Exclusive 'How We Met' Sweepstakes
CHICAGO, IL, JUNE 9, 2003 – Wedding bells will ring on WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT this June when the network presents "Bridal Party," a month of wedding-themed programming featuring original specials and popular films airing Sunday nights beginning June 1. Viewers will also have the opportunity to enter the exclusive "How We Met" sweepstakes at www.we.tv to win an exclusive spa vacation.
The "Bridal Party" schedule features the premiere of two original specials. WEIRD WEDDINGS, premiering June 15 at 10:30pm, looks at unconventional nuptials, including an outdoor nudist wedding, a Civil War re-enactment, a wedding underwater off the bow of the Titanic, even couples getting hitched in a hot air balloon, at the rodeo or while swimming with dolphins. We meet some of the zaniest love-struck couples as they agonize – not just over wardrobe, menus and custom-made vows, but also over special effects – in preparation for their bizarre beginning to married life. HOW WE MET premiering June 22 at 10:00pm, explores the remarkable stories of five couples and the unique circumstances that brought them together.
Viewers who tune into HOW WE MET are invited to visit www.we.tv to vote on their favorite couple featured in the special for the chance to win an all-expenses paid spa getaway. The sweepstakes will run from June 22 to June 30.
Other programming throughout the month includes MOVIE MATRIMONY, which explores every aspect of weddings as portrayed on the Silver Screen, from the proposal and pre-wedding jitters, to sentimental ceremonies and memorable receptions. Wedding-themed films featured in June include "French Kiss" starring Meg Ryan, "Wedding Bell Blues" starring Paulina Porizkova, and "Love Is All There Is" starring Angelina Jolie and Paul Sorvino.
