New Slate Reaffirms Fuse’s Commitment to Connecting Music to our Audience

New York, NY (October 18, 2005) – fuse, the nation’s only viewer-driven, all-music network, announced today that it will profile three of the most successful and influential names in popular music – rapper Kanye West, alt-rockers The White Stripes and U.K. emo-rockers Coldplay – in new fall episodes of its signature in-depth interview series, 100%. This recently-launched series lets musicians reveal what really drives them, via intimate, in-depth interviews about their lives and the musicians that inspired them, along with a career-spanning retrospective of their best videos and live performances.

“The series 100% is like hanging out with your favorite musician. It’s very exciting to continue to have the most popular musicians come to us,” said Robert Weiss, Head of Entertainment for Fuse. “100% is dedicated to showcasing a side of musicians that the public rarely sees, with candid interviews about their lives and musical inspirations and of their quintessential videos.”

The stellar list of past artists to appear on 100% include: U2, Green Day, Usher, Black Eyed Peas, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Audioslave, Beastie Boys and Blink 182.

With 100%: Kanye West, premiering tonight at 9 PM ET, the urban superstar discusses his rise to the top, as arguably the most creative and entertaining force in the hip-hop industry today.

West shares with fuse viewers his early beginnings, when as a fourth grader he discovered his passion for writing and rhyming. Taking a hint from producer and mentor, NO I.D., young Kanye began to create never-before-heard beats by sampling old-school soul records. This process led to a wholly new sound that would ultimately land West a contract with Jay-Z owned ROC-A-FELLA Records in 2002. His debut disc, “The College Dropout,” went multi platinum in 2004, landing Kanye 10 Grammy nominations and three awards, and also on the cover of Time Magazine. His sophomore effort, “Late Registration,” received even greater critical praise and the top spot on the Billboard Charts in September 2005.

On November 15 at 9 PM ET, 100%: White Stripes provides a revealing look at the greatest thing to come out of Detroit since Motown and Iggy Pop, the minimalist, back-to-basic pop duo of Jack and Meg White. The garage rock/blues/roots Americana style captured in trend-setting disc like

“DeStijl,” “White Blood Cells” and their current offering “Get Behind Me Satan” is profiled in discussions with the duo and screenings of influential videos, like their breakthrough, “Fell In Love with A Girl.” In 100%: White Stripes, the Whites also address both their retro, lo-fi recording style and their curious, ever-changing relationship-their short-running marriage and present day guise as “brother and sister.”

On December 6 at 9 PM ET, 100%: Coldplay looks at the Brit-rock quartet for whom strong melodies and sweet, soaring vocals have led to a long-run on the top of the charts, both in the UK and the USA. In this episode, the group discusses their founding during their school days at the University College of London and their many influences, from Bob Dylan and Neil Young to The Stone Roses and My Bloody Valentine. Their works and career are profiled in videos and live footage, dating from their 2000 debut, the mega-selling “Parachutes” to their current disc, “X&Y.”
