New York, NY, January 8, 2001 – Rainbow Media Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:RMG) announced today that Marc Juris, formerly the executive vice president and general manager for American Movie Classics (AMC), has been named president of MuchMusic USA, the nation’s only viewer-driven all music network. In this role, Juris will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operations of MuchMusic USA and lead the strategic expansion of the network across the country. Juris will report directly to Rainbow Media’s CEO and President Josh Sapan.

“Marc is an incredible business person and television professional whose creativity has made him a leader in the cable industry,” says Sapan. “He has been a driving force behind the growth of American Movie Classics and a vital part of the development of AMC’s award winning multi-platform interactive movie events. Under Juris’ supervision, American Movie Classics (AMC) has more than doubled its original programming and garnered many of the industry’s highest honors, including five Emmy Awards. Mark led the development of cutting-edge content for the network’s Web site including the prototype for AMC’s multi-platform interactive movie events.

Before working with AMC, Juris was the senior vice president of programming at Rainbow Media. He was instrumental in the development and launch of MetroChannels, the package of three regional cable channels dedicated exclusively for the New York tri-state area.

Juris is a native New Yorker and graduate of Syracuse University, where he majored in business. He is an active member of numerous industry associations, including the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences’ New York and Los Angeles branches.

With this announcement, Nora Ryan, who served as the interim General Manager of MuchMusic USA, will return to her position as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Rainbow.
