Marc Juris Promoted to Executive Vice President, General Manager of American Movie Classics

JERICHO, New York, March 6, 2001 — Marc Juris has been named Executive Vice President and General Manager of AMERICAN MOVIE CLASSICS, it was announced today by Kate McEnroe, President, AMC Networks. In his new position, Juris will oversee programming, marketing and public relations for the classic movie network. He will report to McEnroe.

“Marc Juris has been instrumental in helping AMC further define its brand with his unique experience in production, marketing and promotion,” noted McEnroe. “His talent and expertise, along with a genuine passion for classic moves and incredible creativity, play a key role at the network.”

Juris has been with AMC for four years, as Senior Vice President, Original Programming, Packaging and Production for AMC. In that position, he supervised all areas of development, production, network scheduling and on-air promotion, and served as executive producer of AMC’s original series, documentaries and specials.

Since Juris joined the network, AMC has more than doubled its original programming and garnered many of the industry’s highest honors, including five Emmy awards. Juris supervised the development of cutting-edge content for the network’s website ( and developed the prototype for AMC’s multi-platform interactive movie events.

Says Juris, “I’m extremely gratified to be asked to lead AMC at this exciting time in its evolution. I believe that my task is to continue the network’s sixteen-year tradition of showcasing great moves and creating compelling original programming about the world of American film, while simultaneously reaching out to a new generation of movie lovers. Prior to joining AMC, Juris was Senior Vice President of Programming at Rainbow Media. In this capacity, he was instrumental in the development and launch of Metro TV. Juris also served as an executive consultant to the

“Rolonda” show, produced and distributed by King World, and was Vice
President of Programming and Production for Select Media. Before joining Select, Juris served as Creative Director at GM Communications, and was a production executive at CBS Inc.

Juris is a native New Yorker and graduate of Syracuse University, where he majored in business. He will be located in AMC’s headquarters in Jericho, NY.
