New York, NY, January 8, 2002 – muchmusic usa, the nation’s only independent music network, announced today that one hundred percent of its programming will now originates at the network, reflecting the achievement of its goal to make all of its programming completely viewer driven.
“Two years ago, muchmusic usa undertook the bold step to create a completely viewer driven music network. Today’s announcement marks the completion of that transition,” stated muchmusic usa President Marc Juris.
In the past year, muchmusic usa more than tripled the hours of its original programming with the debut of popular new music series like Dedicate Live!, Soundtrack of Your Life, and the heavy metal showcase, Uranium. On January 20, 2003, the network will fuse live television and the interactive game play to an unprecedented level when it premieres IMX: Interactive Music Exchange. IMX. Using the muchmuch usa web site, www.mmusa.tv, these programs and others empower viewers with a true voice in the network’s programming. Up until January 1st, muchmusic usa had used some music video programming from Chum Television, the parent of Canadian MuchMusic.
