Lisa Ling Hosts Original Music Series, 'rocktalk' on January 17

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 6, 2003 – WE: WOMEN'S ENTERTAINMENT presents the second annual WE GOT THE BEAT music series airing Friday nights in January at 10pm ET. Throughout the month, WE GOT THE BEAT will feature original series, specials and concerts.

Lisa Ling ("The View") hosts the original documentary series, "rocktalk" featuring exclusive interviews with some of today's hottest female artists including Pink, Macy Gray, Ashanti, Nelly Furtado, Alanis Morissette and Kylie Minogue. Fans are also invited to reminisce with singing sensations Donna Summer, Pat Benatar and The Go-Go's with concerts featuring popular hits from the seventies and eighties. And, in the original special ROCK 'N' MOMS, Pat Benatar, Nancy and Ann Wilson of Heart and Michelle Phillips of The Mamas and the Papas reveal the journey from rock stars to rock moms and how they maintained a balance between both roles.

Rock 'n' Moms – Premieres January 10 at 10:00 PM ET
This original special reveals the journey of women musicians as they progress from rock stars to mothers who must find, and maintain, a balance between both roles. The one-hour documentary features exclusive interviews with rock & roll icon, Pat Benatar and her daughter Haley, Michelle Phillips, of THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS and daughter Chynna Phillips, the duo Nancy and Ann Wilson of HEART, GO-GO'S guitarist Charlotte Caffey and singer/songwriter Louise Goffin, daughter of legendary singer/songwriter Carole King.

"rocktalk" – January 17 at 7:00 and 7:30 PM ET
Hosted by Lisa Ling, "rocktalk" consists of two half-hour original specials profiling today's hottest contemporary female musicians; Pink, Alanis Morissette, Kylie Minogue, Ashanti, Macy Gray, and Nelly Furtado. With clips from their chart-topping videos, and intimate one-on-one interviews, viewers will learn what inspired these artists and how they overcame obstacles on the path to superstardom.

Donna Summer: Live and More Encore – Premieres January 17 at 10:00 PM ET
This queen of disco displays all of her greatest achievements in one spectacular performance. The concert features many popular tunes including "Last Dance," "On the Radio," "She Works Hard for the Money," "Hot Stuff" and "No More Tears (Enough is Enough)."

Pat Benatar: Summer Vacation – Premieres January 24 at 10:00 PM ET
One of the most beloved first ladies of rock, Pat Benatar teams up with husband/collaborator Neil Giraldo for this concert featuring hits from her latest album, Inamorata. Benatar also serves up some of the earlier rock & roll favorites such as "We Belong," "Love is a Battlefield" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."

The GoGo's from Central Park – Premieres January 31 at 10:00 PM ET
The 80s pop divas are back with the beats that create an instant girl-bonding experience in this concert from New York City's Central Park. Tune in for a little 80s nostalgia when these four hip chicks perform singles from their latest album God Bless the GoGo's, as well as everybody's sing-along favorites such as "Vacation," "We Got the Beat" and "Our Lips Are Sealed."
