Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation (RASCO) Names Jim Agius, Director of Detroit Advertising Sales

Ad Sales Veteran to Lead New Detroit Office

April 06, 2004 – New York — Rainbow Advertising Sales Corporation (RASCO), the advertising subsidiary of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, today announced the appointment of its Director of Detroit Advertising Sales, Jim Agius, to lead its new Detroit sales office located at 100 W. Big Beaver Rd, Ste. 200, Troy.

Formed in 1984, RASCO is the cable industry’s most diverse advertising representation firm. With a staff of more than 485 sales professionals in 23 offices nationwide, RASCO manages seven divisions including: AMC/WE: Women’s Entertainment Networks Ad Sales, Cablevision Ad Sales, Fuse Ad Sales, Rainbow Direct, The New York Interconnect, News 12 Networks/Metro Traffic & Weather Ad Sales, and MSG/Fox Sports Net NY Ad Sales.

As Director of Detroit Ad Sales, Mr. Agius will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Detroit sales office, furthering relationships with key clients, as well as developing sales strategies for AMC and WE: Women’s Entertainment.

A true veteran to the ad sales industry, Mr. Agius served in various ad sales roles for more than 17 years, most recently as senior vice president, National Sales Manager for The Weather Channel. At The Weather Channel, Mr. Agius was responsible for its advertising revenue, in addition to five of its regional offices, Direct Response and Specialized Advertising. In that role, Mr. Agius developed integrated sales and sponsorship strategies with Weather.com resulting in a significant increase in incremental revenue. Prior to his tenure at The Weather Channel, Mr. Agius held ad sales positions at ESPN, NBC Cable & International and A&E.
