Uranium With Marilyn Manson Halloween Night, October 31 @ 9 PM
New York, NY – October 28, 2002 – The always colorful and provocative Marilyn Manson takes on the roles of VJ and circus master at muchmusic usa when he hosts a special edition of the network’s daily metal music showcase, Uranium. The one-hour spectacle of music, makeup and unscripted madness, entitled Uranium with Marilyn Manson, will premiere Halloween night, October 31 at 9 PM ET on muchmusic usa.
During the special, the avant-garde artist provokes and entertains the audience as he unveils his favorite videos, his new paintings and a bizarre new stage persona – an over-the-top burlesque inspired by his most recent obsession and artistic influence, decadent ’30s Berlin culture. Manson is joined by Uranium‘s bodacious hostess Juliya and a slew of outrageously colorful characters – clad in everything from corsets and fishnets to feather boas and leather whips – in this television celebrations of all things Manson.
“Our network is all about freedom of expression, connecting viewers with their favorite performers and giving these stars an uninhibited forum for their artistry,” stated Marc Juris, president of muchmusic usa. “With his overtly bizarre persona, and flair for costume, controversy and kink, we thought that Marilyn Manson would be the perfect host for a Halloween airing of Uranium.”
Manson created his own play-list for the one-hour special, boasting a walk through of his greatest videos and intriguing entries from established and emerging artists that he thinks are worth a watch. A few favorites from the singer include: Felix the Cat w/Miss Kitten’s “What Does It Feel Like, Ministry’s “Just One Fix;” Fatboy Slim’s “Weapon of Choice” and even Madonna’s “Die Another Day.” Also featured during the special are DVD entries from Manson including “Reflecting God” and an excerpt from “Death Parade.” And for the first time on television, Marilyn will showcase selected pieces of his distinctive watercolor paintings including Crop Failure, When I Get Old, Hand of Glory and Ubermensch.
Uranium features the latest and greatest from the harder edge of the rock universe, metal and thrash favorites like Tool, Slipknot, System of a Down and Nine Inch Nails, with muchmusic’s own Juliya as host, in studio and on-the-road. The show airs Mondays-Thursdays from 7:00 – 7:30 PM ET (repeats at 1 AM ET) and on Saturdays at Midnight and 12:30 AM ET.
