The Best Damn Sports Show Period Announces Two Day Bay Area Blitz

Fans Invited to Attend Show Tapings at McCovey Point at China Basin Park
in San Francisco on Thursday, November 20th & Friday, November 21st 2:30PM – 4:30PM

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – The BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD today announced a two-day road trip to the San Francisco Bay Area. Lead by actor/comedian Tom Arnold, the show will tape from McCovey Point at China Basin Park in San Francisco on Thursday, November 20th through Friday, November 21st from 2:30PM – 4:30PM. BDSSP correspondent Leeann Tweeden will accompany Tom as he tours scenic San Francisco, meets local celebrities and dives into the heart of Bay Area sports culture. Fans are invited to get in on the excitement of the nation-wide broadcasts by coming out to see their local sports stars and participating in the fun of the show.

BDSSP's Bay Area episodes air Thursday, November 20th at 8:00 PM and Friday, November 21st at 10:00 PM.

Tom's BDSSP's Bay Area hit-list kicks off Thursday, November 20th with a private tour of San Francisco's famous historical landmark, Alcatraz Island, and interviews with San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia and Mike Dunleavy, Jr. of the Golden State Warriors. Big name guest appearances, including San Francisco Giants Hall-of-Famer Willie Mays and San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, will highlight the Friday, November 21st show. Guest list subject to change. Other Bay Area athletes and celebrities to appear on the show will be announced at a later date.

The behind-the-scenes action continues on Friday as Bay Area celebrity Robin Williams takes viewers on his personal bike route through San Francisco, over the Golden Gate Bridge and into the Marin Headlands. As part of BDSSP's Bay Area blitz, viewers also will be treated to a day-in-the-life-of "The Violater," the ultimate Raiders fan. Tom Arnold's and Leeann Tweeden's trip then culminates with the hype of the upcoming Cal-Stanford "Big Game." In anticipation of the biggest rivalry in the Pac-10, the show looks back at the hilarity of "The Play," locating key band members to re-enact the famous band collision of 1982.

BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD features host Chris Rose, actor/comedian Tom Arnold as the voice-of-the-fan, ex-NBA standout John Salley, former MLB manager Kevin Kennedy, and newest member, two-time Super Bowl champion Ray Crockett. The group tosses around sports conversation from the fans' and players' points of view with a no-holds-barred approach. Blending sports and comedy with an irreverent tone throughout the two hours, BEST DAMN SPORTS SHOW PERIOD talks about the sports and games we love in conversation that ranges from provocative to comedic.
