VOOM HD Networks Inks Channel Representation Deal With DLA

Distributor to Take Global VOOM HD Channel into Central and South America for the First Time

New York, NY – September 8, 2008 – Responding to the world’s growing demand for high-quality, high-definition (HD) programming, VOOM HD Networks has signed a channel representation agreement with DLA, a leading distributor with 100% penetration among digital cable operators throughout Latin America. The deal is another milestone for the VOOM HD channel, marking its first extension into the region and rounding out its global reach. In addition to English audio tracks, the channel will be languaged with Spanish and Portuguese subtitles in order to provide comprehensive service to Latin American viewers.

The deal was announced today by VOOM HD Network’s Senior Vice President of Global Operations and Business, Glenn Oakley, and DLA’s CEO, Antonio Barreto. The agreement facilitates the distribution of the VOOM HD channel into Mexico, Central America, South America and multiple Caribbean Basin Islands.

"DLA’s expertise and penetration into the Latin American marketplace made the company a natural choice as we looked to grow our channel’s reach into this region," said Oakley in making the announcement. "We are energized by the opportunities that await and look forward to working with DLA to deliver VOOM HD to Latin American viewers."

Added VOOM HD Networks General Manager Greg Moyer: "By adding Latin America to our reach, we now have worldwide sales representation agreements – a gratifying achievement considering we took the VOOM channel global less than two years ago."

"VOOM HD has earned a global reputation for developing, producing and packaging compelling HD content," said Barreto, DLA’s CEO. "This reputation, combined with our leadership position in launching top channels into Latin America, has already resulted in early interest from Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Venezuela."

VOOM HD – available as a 24/7 feed, delivered in 1080i format high-definition with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio delivering six channels of surround sound-offers a diverse collection of HD programming on such topics as adventure travel, fashion, luxury lifestyle, art, live concerts, action sports and video gaming.

The deal was made possible by IBC’s Jon Helmrich.
