NEW YORK – November 13, 2006 – The greatest rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia auction of all-time will be a public, all access affair, when VOOM’s TREASURE HD Presents: The Dick Clark Auction Live. The network has secured the live broadcast rights from the noted auction house, Gurnsey’s, for its much-anticipated December benefit auction. TREASURE HD, the first and only high-definition television channel dedicated to people with a passion for collecting, will also offer viewers their first detailed perusal of Clark’s unmatched collection of rock treasures in an exclusive hour-long preview show airing November 25th. TREASURE HD is one of the VOOM HD Networks, the critically acclaimed collection of 15 high-definition channels, available nationwide on DISH Network.

“Dick Clark’s personal collection of memorabilia includes many of the most important pieces from the history of popular music,” said George Lansbury, Executive Producer and Director of Programming and Production, Treasure HD. “Coverage of this landmark event will not only appeal to the 70 million Americans who share a passion for collecting, but also to pop-culture enthusiasts everywhere who want to bid for or indulge in the fantasy of owning an important slice of rock history. This latest quarterly auction is our biggest yet, one that dramatically furthers our mission to deliver exclusive, original programming for the growing and widely diversifying population of collectors worldwide.”

On November 25th at 1:00pm ET, VOOM’s TREASURE HD will premiere The Dick Clark Auction Preview. This hour-long special will investigate the highlights of the sale via interviews with stars like Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of KISS; and authorities including Rolling Stone magazine contributing editor Anthony DeCurtis, and Arlan Ettinger, owner of Guernsey’s Auction House. On December 6th, VOOM’s TREASURE HD Presents: The Dick Clark Auction Live will be televised live and interactive in two sessions – the first starting at 12:30pm ET and the second at 6:00pm ET – capturing the frenzied bidding and the bevy of rockers young and classic that are slated to attend. Viewers interested in bidding will be able to participate by phone or online (www.treasurehd.com) in real-time as the auction is conducted at New York’s Rose Theatre. Notably, a VOOM TREASURE HD viewer walked away with one of the most coveted items from the recently televised James Bond auction, the earrings worn by Miss Moneypenny in the film Moonraker (1979), which sold for $3,000.

About Arlan Ettinger and Guernsey’s
Guernsey’s Auction House is considered the pioneer within the auction world focusing primarily on categories relating to the popular culture. It was Guernsey’s that sold a baseball for $3 million just as it was Guernsey’s that sold the only Cuban products – 200,000 pre-Castro Cuban cigars – allowed into the U.S. since the establishment of the Cuban embargo. Guernsey’s conducted the world’s largest auction…the contents of the ocean liner SS United States (hiring two hundred recent ex-convicts to assist in the project.) Indeed, from the first sale of artwork of the Soviet Union (held during the Cold War) to single-handedly being given credit for saving vintage carousel figures from extinction to the auction house’s upcoming Dick Clark auction, no organization has been involved in more colorful auction events than Guernsey’s. And to be sure, Mr. Ettinger has seemingly limitless interesting, often humorous stories stemming from this unique career.
