WE tv Appoints Elain Waldman Vice President Trade Marketing; Heather Umen Promoted to Vice President Brand Experience and Event

NEW YORK, NY – June 4, 2008 – WE tv has appointed Elain Waldman to Vice President of Trade Marketing. Waldman joins WE tv from NBC Universal. In her new position, Ms. Waldman is responsible for developing ad sales sponsorship opportunities for WE tv’s original series, including innovative product placement, storyline integrations, vignette series, and other strategic client partnerships. As well, she will work with affiliate sales and marketing to reinforce the network’s value to key MSOs. In addition, WE tv promoted Heather Umen to Vice President of Brand Experience and Events from Director of Brand Experience and Events. In her new role, Ms. Umen will strategically plan and execute client events and promotional initiatives, drive local market programs and continue to expand the network’s public affairs initiative WE Empowers Women. Both Ms. Waldman and Ms. Umen report to Kenetta Bailey, Senior Vice President of Marketing for WE tv.

At NBC Universal, Waldman was Director of Marketing in the Enterprise Marketing Solutions group for NBCU’s cable and broadcast networks including USA, Bravo, Oxygen, and NBC. Waldman previously led the development and execution of sales sponsorship packages for NBCU’s Telemundo. Prior to her five years at NBC Universal, Waldman spent eight years at Young & Rubicam in the advertising division, and also at the company’s Brand Buzz arm, where her client list included Kraft, Colgate-Palmolive, Sony Electronics, and the U.S. Postal Service.

Waldman was born and raised in Brazil. She currently resides in Manhattan with her husband. . She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of North Carolina.

Prior to joining WE tv in 2005, Heather worked at the Nassau County Sports Commission and served as Director of Community Relations and Fan Development at the New York Islanders, where she created the organization’s foundation, re-branded its practice facility, and increased fan attendance. Heather started her career coordinating events and marketing efforts for the Colorado Silver Bullets, a women’s professional baseball team managed by Baseball Hall of Famer, Phil Niekro.

Umen lives in Bayside, NY with her husband. She graduated from Ithaca College with a B.S. in Sports Information & Communication. She is a recent graduate of WICT’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute (Class XVI) and a member of ACC, CTAM and WICT.
