WE: Women’s Entertainment Presents “Naughty Or Nice,” an All-Day Holiday Movie Marathon on December 25

JERICHO, NEW YORK, November 1, 2001 – On Christmas Day, December 25th, WE: Women's Entertainment offers a day-long marathon of movies celebrating the classic Christmas question: Who's been naughty and who's been nice? Your favorite female stars portray naughty and haughty vixens and nice girls-next-door to alternatively enchant viewers throughout the day. Beginning at 10AM, just when you're opening your presents, join the nicest of the nice, Angela Lansbury, on her GREEN JOURNEY but after Christmas dinner right around the time you're hitting the egg nog, watch Heather Graham take naughty to the extreme in TWO GIRLS AND A GUY.

The "Naughty or Nice" Movie Marathon schedule follows:

GREEN JOURNEY (1990) Angela Lansbury, Cynthia Nixon, Denholm Elliott
Nice Rating: ***
We kick off our marathon with tinsel town's resident sweetie Angela Lansbury in a role syrupy enough to satisfy any holiday sweet tooth. She portrays an unmarried, aging Catholic school teacher who begins to question whether she is taking advantage of all life has to offer. She decides to travel to Ireland to meet the man to whom she has been secretly writing for years. Though she has never met him, she has already fallen in love with him, and anxiously awaits her meeting, unaware of the surprises in store.

THE WOMAN IN RED (1984) Gene Wilder, Charles Grodin, Gilda Radner, Kelly LeBrock
Naughty Rating: ***
Gene Wilder is a naughty holiday ham who will keep you ho-ho-ho-ing in this lusty comedy of errors. Teddy is a quiet, middle-aged man with a pretty good life – a wife and kids who love him, great friends, and a fine job. Life should have been more than enough. But one day Teddy spots a beautiful woman in a red dress and becomes obsessed with finding her. His quest turns comical as his friend tries to cover for him, his wife goes off the deep end (obviously green with envy over the woman in red), and in a case of mistaken identity, he ends up romancing the wrong woman.

SEND ME NO FLOWERS (1964) Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Tony Randall, Paul Lynde
Nice Rating: ***
There will still be plenty of room for Christmas dinner after digesting this light comedy from Doris Day (in signature nice mode). At one of his many visits to his doctor, hypochondriac Rock Hudson mistakes a dying man's diagnosis for his own and believes he only has two more weeks to live. Wanting to take care of his wife, he doesn't tell her the news and tries to find her a new husband. When he finally does tell her, she quickly finds out he's not dying at all (though he still thinks he is) and she believes it's just a lame excuse to hide an affair, so she decides to leave him. Of course, the result is a happy ending with all the trimmings.

COUSIN BETTE (1998) Jessica Lange, Elisabeth Shue, Bob Hoskins, Hugh Laurie, Aden Young

Naughty Rating: ****
Watch your back when this naughty vixen takes her Santa claws out. Oscar winner Jessica Lange is Cousin Bette, a lonely spinster who vows sweet revenge after being snubbed and disregarded one time too many by friends and lovers whom Bette is convinced owe her nothing short of undying love and gratitude.

STANLEY & IRIS (1990) Jane Fonda, Robert DeNiro, Swoosie Kurtz, Martha Plimpton
Nice Rating: ****
Academy Award winners Jane Fonda and Robert DeNiro star in this heartwarming story about an illiterate cook and his friendship with a recent widow. DeNiro works in her company's cafeteria and when Fonda accidentally discovers his inability to read, she gives him the greatest gift of all by tutoring him at night. Still grieving over the loss of her husband, Fonda worries about her feelings towards her student, as their relationship grows. No need to check the list twice here. Nice is as nice does.

TWO GIRLS AND A GUY (1997) Robert Downey Jr., Heather Graham, Natasha Gregson Wagner
Naughty Rating: ****
Empty stockings all around for these three naughty little elves. Oscar-nominee Robert Downey Jr., Heather Graham and Natasha Gregson Wagner bring new meaning to three's a crowd in this story of sex and lies. Two young women meet on a New York City street as each waits for her boyfriend. They quickly realize they are waiting for the same man who's been leading a double life, romancing both women for months and avowing his undying love to each of them. First the women confront each other, and then their boyfriend, in a round of fast and furious accusations and funny, poignant and wild explanations.
