NEW YORK, NY – FEBRUARY 4, 2010 – Wedding Central, the first and only 24/7 destination for wedding-themed programming, will debut its first-ever original web series, "Bridal Breakdown," debuting online at www.WeddingCentral.com on Monday, February 8. Each of the six episodes feature a soon-to-be bride thrust into an outrageous situation right before her big day. Then, just as the bride reaches her "breaking point," "Bridal Breakdown" producers reveal that she’s been pranked by friends, family and even her bridesmaids.
"’Bridal Breakdown’ is a playful, lighthearted web series that gives the friends and families of brides-to-be the opportunity to inject some fun into their lives, at a time that is normally extremely stressful," said Jennifer Robertson, senior vice president of digital media & business development. "This web series is a great online companion to the robust wedding programming on Wedding Central."
Each "Bridal Breakdown" bride is followed by Wedding Central’s camera crew as she prepares for her big day. The brides are recorded trying on wedding gowns, choosing bridesmaid dresses and sitting through make-up trials, all while thinking they’re being interviewed for a wedding documentary. What the bride doesn’t know is that Wedding Central has cast an actor to play the role of her vendor – the wedding store manager who questions the bride’s credit; the make-up assistant who tries to steal items from the bride’s home; the boutique clerk who abandons the bride and her bridal party to help another "customer." Just before the bride reaches a moment of absolute hysteria and disbelief, the "wedding documentary producer" and "vendor" step in to let her know she’s just been pranked by Wedding Central’s "Bridal Breakdown" with the help of a friend, family member or even her trusted maid of honor.
A new "Bridal Breakdown" episode will premiere every Monday on www.WeddingCentral.com over six weeks. Each episode is 4-6 minutes long. "Bridal Breakdown" is produced by Lifefilm Entertainment.
